Disney is launching a range of face masks for both kids and adults to stay safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

The entertainment giant is introducing non-medical, reusable cloth face masks which feature a range of Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters.

Costing $19.99 for a pack of four (and shipping internationally), the masks feature a range fan favourite characters from Frozen's Anna and Elsa, to Toy Story's Woody and Buzz Lightyear to Mickey and Mini Mouse.

"We realise this is a challenging time for families and wearing any type of mask can be daunting," says Edward Park, senior vice president of Disney Store.

"Our hope is that Disney's cloth face masks featuring some of our most beloved characters will provide comfort to the families, fans and communities that are so important to us."

The initiative by Disney will see profits of the face masks up to $1million, from now through to 30th September, donated to Medshare, a US non-profit organisation which recovers surplus medical supplies from hospitals and redistributes to health care establishments in developing countries.

What's more, 1 million Disney face masks will be distributed to children and families in "underserved and vulnerable communities" across the US.

"Disney's donations will make a tremendous impact in the communities we serve," adds Charles Redding, CEO and president of MedShare.

"Their contribution of one million Disney cloth face masks will be provided to families in underserved communities and organisations working to limit the spread of COVID-19, while their monetary donation will be used to support the medical community's ongoing efforts to provide lifesaving care to those who need it most."
