People Are Seriously Divided Over This OTT Elf On The Shelf

This is some serious commitment to Elf on the Shelf.

TikTokers are divided after one mum turned her kitchen into a beach for Elf on the Shelf.

The mum, who goes by the name of @samgrace_22 on TikTok, covered her kitchen floor in sand, buckets and spades to surprise her son - and it looks incredible.

You can watch the video below:

In case you're unfamiliar, Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas tradition in which 'elves' are sent by Santa to 'keep an eye' on kids and make sure they're behaving themselves in time for Christmas!

The idea is that the elves travel back and forth between the North Pole to report on whether the children are to be on the naughty list, or the nice list.

The elves love to make mischief, getting up to all sorts of antics in the middle of the night - but they don't move at all during the day.

In this case, it seems those naughty elves managed to create a beach in Sam's kitchen!

Sam covered the kitchen in sand (

But other TikTokers are divided over the idea, with one writing: "Does no one else avoid beaches on holiday because they hate sand? Or just me 😅😂 I couldn’t think of anything worse than it being in my house."

And another said: "And this is for what???"

Others defended Sam, with one adding: "Anyone else think she’s a wonderful mother for doing this for her child? I think it’s a brilliant idea x."

And another said: "This is awesome!! This is what it's all about. Doing what you and your kids will love not what society thinks!! Go girl!! I want to build a sandcastle."

A third added: "This is an example of a good mum, your child/children will remember this and it’s so great for their learning and development! Well done."

The end result looked amazing (

We love this! Those pesky elves...
