This Cat and Meerkat Are Inseparable BFFs
The world is full of unexpected friendships.
Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart. Russell Brand and Helen Mirren. Eminem and Elton John. Kris Jenner and Jennifer Lawrence. We could go on...
The animal world is no different. Meerkat Suria, six, and cat Nice, eight, are two inseparable - if unlikely - best friends from Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The pair love snuggling up together to spoon, cuddle, gently scratch one another and generally go all-out on the PDAs. Get a room, guys.
So strong is their bond that owner Ekaterina Kuraeva, 45, decided to film the duo's snuggle sessions in an adorable series of videos - which promptly went viral online.
Ekaterina says the furry friends are together 24/7 and are fiercely protective of one another. This is a passionate relationship and the adorable twosome love each other to the point of jealousy.
"When we got Suria, Nice was already living with us," said Ekaterina.
"They bonded straight away. Now they spend the whole day together, every day. They do everything together, eating, sleeping and playing.
According to Ekaterina, Suria is the needier one of the pair, but moggy Nice is happy to oblige and gives his meerkat companion plenty of TLC.
"Suria is definitely the most affectionate one, but Nice loves the meerkat too, he loves playing with him and licking him up," said Ekaterina.
"Suria is very jealous when I spend time with the cat. When I take him in my arms, he gets nervous and starts jumping trying to get him back."
If the love story of Nice and Suria brings you all the warm and fuzzy feels, there are more best bud tales where that came from.
How about besties Swoop the rescue magpie and Mowgli the cat, who both love belly rubs?
Or Shelby the blind great dane and tiny pupper Bianca, who has helped him see the light of friendship again. A little-and-large dream team.
Snoop and Martha, you've got competition.
