We've already waxed lyrical about baby foxes being the heroes of lockdown, and now there's another story to add to our cause.
It comes from a man who thought he'd found an abandoned puppy on the side of the road near his home in Japan.
The kind stranger, named Masashi, took the puppy in, before putting out a tweet in the hopes to reunite the small animal, who he named Luna, with its owner.
But it was only when the replies rolled in that he realised the precious ball of fluff wasn't a dog, but it was in fact a baby fox.

Masashi told his followers that he would be taking Luna to the vet's to check what species she is (you know, just in case), but it later appeared he'd got the confirmation she was in fact a fox, and he wouldn't be able to keep her.
In Japan, it's illegal to keep foxes as pets as they may carry harmful disease. Instead, Masashi handed the orphaned fox cub over to a fan where she can be looked after while she can't fend for herself.
"We have completed handing over the fox to Kita Kitsune Farm," he updated his followers. "If you have the opportunity, I would be happy if you could visit Luna."

If we lived in Japan, we'd be there in an instant!
We already knew baby foxes - also known as pups or cubs - were cute AF (see here for all the evidence you'll ever need), but we had no idea they could look so similar to dogs when they're really young.
Foxes have been the wholesome distraction we've needed during lockdown, and we've been seeing the adorable creatures everywhere since isolation, from in the streets to our back gardens, where people are spotting tiny little fox cubs playing happily among their flowers, like the epitome of spring.

Cuteness overload or what?
