Heartwarming Moment A Lost Dog Is Renuited With Her Owner After Three Years Missing

Heartwarming Moment A Lost Dog Is Renuited With Her Owner After Three Years Missing

A dog who was missing for three years has now been reunited with her owner - and the sweet moment they were brought back together has been captured on film.

As soon as the pooch, Leeann, 12, spotted her owner, Veronica Bonilla, 43, she went into overdrive, leaping into her arms, whilst Veronica broke down in tears.

It is the sweetest moment.

Leeann mysteriously went missing when her human family moved from New York to New Jersey in October 2016, but just over three years later last December, she turned up hundreds of miles away in Tampa Bay, Florida. Nobody knows how she got there.

She was found wandering the streets by a member of the public, who dropped her off at the Humane Society animal shelter.

Luckily, Leeann, 12, was microchipped, allowing her to easily be reunited with owner.

Hearing the news on Boxing Day, it was a Christmas miracle for Veronica, who hopped on a plane the same day to go and pick up Leeann - she'd missed her fur baby so much.

Spokesperson from Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Maria Matlack said: "Veronica was in shock when she heard the news, but after seeing a photo she knew it was her beloved dog.

"She immediately bought a ticket and jumped on a plane to Florida."

Veronica could not believe her eyes when she received the message from the animal shelter either.

Adding: "I couldn't believe it, I took the phone to my husband and I was like, am I reading this right?

"I wish Leeann could talk to me and tell me what happened."

From the video, it looks as though the pair were elated to see each other.

"Leeann is doing great back home," Maria added.

We do love a happy ending, especially when it involves beloved pet pooches.
