Zoe's conditions include uveodermatologic syndrome and sebaceous adenitis, which causes blindness and sensitivity to sunlight.

Luckily, the diva dog looks a bit too cool for school in her fancy eyewear and can only be walked in the early morning hours or after the sun has set.

She needs special medication for the rest of her life too, so it will take a very particular person to be able to take on such a pet.

She was sadly left at an animal sanctuary after her previous owner fell terminally ill.

The owner was well adapted to looking after Zoey, but when the family had to take her on instead, she was left neglected, without medication and in a terrible state when she was handed over, along with her brother.

Now all the cute pup needs is someone to love her.

The animal shelter, the not-for-profit Saving Huey Foundation in the USA, is even offering a lifetime supply of medication to anyone willing to adopt Zoey for life, by way of thanks to anyone willing to go out of their way to care for her.

The Foundation's owner Tracy Lystra said: "Zoey is a very loving dog, although she has a lot of health conditions, we hope that there's a family out there who will be able to commit to giving her the life she deserves.

"We will cover her medical costs for life, and the doggles are of course thrown in with any adoptee willing to help! She wears doggles to help protect the pigment around her eyes."

They clearly aren't just a fashion accessory for this Akita.

Tracy added: "Zoey has rehabbed around other dogs, including puppies and has done remarkably well.

"She is crate trained and lets her foster parents know when she has to use the restroom.

"Zoey loves toys and loves to play tug of war with other dogs or her human.

"She doesn't get to go outside much because of her conditions, but she loves it, so the 'doggles' really do afford her the freedom she deserves, she's a very loving dog."

"We understand that adopting a dog with Zoey's condition is going to take a special person as well as a special commitment."

She isn't located here in the UK, but if you have friends over the pond in the USA that are after a new pup, perhaps they will fall in love with this cool canine. They can get in touch with the Saving Huey Foundation.

Who could resist that adorable face?
