The TikTok user shows viewers how to avoid the splashing effect that will leave you drenched. Instead, using the middle part of the tray will help create a calmer distribution of water. People who saw the video were mind blown that they didn't know this hack sooner.
One person replied to the video: "oh man. I'm 33 and had no clue".
"Pity myself for past years...", commented another user.
Somebody else said: "right now i dont even know if im breathing right".
"Why don't they teach that in school", said someone else in the comments.
Another TikTok user said: "thank you we all learn new things everyday".
One commenter replied: "how sad am i just went to try it, yay it works".
Others boasted about having this knowledge at their disposal.
One TikTok user replied: "You're late lol already knew that".
"Yeah... it spills over and saves water. We learn this at 3 years of age", replied someone else.
Another commenter wrote: "ok everyone had to have known this".
"I knew that since I was about 7", bragged one person.
Another comment read: "uhm it was common sense for me though".
However, some people were still stuck in their old ways.
One TikTok user commented: "the chaos is better tho".
Someone else admitted that even this hack wouldn't help them that much: "I do it and drop all the water on the way to the freezer".
Some people even had further ideas to help.
One person suggested: "Do that on an angle and it will be even easier".
Another recommended: "and if you fill it with hot water the ice won't crack when u break it".
So, if you didn't know how to fill an ice cube tray, now you know how to properly cool down in the summer heat.
