We're so trying this.

A doctor has revealed how to find out if you're dehydrated in just a few seconds.

The Turgor Test - also referred to as the 'skin pinch test' is mega easy and simply involves pinching the skin and assessing the time it takes for it to return to its normal state.

Dr Karan Raj - aka @dr.karanr on TikTok - responded to another TikTok user who claimed it works by pinching the skin at the middle point of the finger.

Dr Raj explained that while he wasn't sure if the user's method was accurate on the knuckle, the principle behind the skin pinch test is correct.

You can watch below:

In the original TikTok, the user explains: "Dehydration check... to see how dehydrated you are, you have to squeeze your fingertip right here and if it goes back down you're hydrated.

"If you squeeze it and it stays up like this you are dehydrated."

Dr Raj then adds: "This is known as the skin pinch or the skin turgor test.

"The more hydrated you are the more elastic your skin will be and it'll bounce back immediately after pinching it.

"If you're dehydrate the skin loses elasticity and it takes a while to return to normal and it's more likely to tent up."

Some TikTok users tested out the method, and were alarmed over their hydration levels.

One person wrote: "I just tested mine and it stayed all the way up. Going to get some water now."

Meanwhile another said: "This made me drink two litres of water."

And a third added: "Mine stayed up for a solid minute."

"Who else drank water straight after it tented up?" Questioned a fourth TikToker.
