Fast food fans... we've got some exciting news. McDonald's Monopoly is officially back on Wednesday (25th August) - and after a year's hiatus, it's officially better than ever.
Yep, you might remember that Maccies Monopoly didn't happen in March 2021, or the year prior, for rather obvious pandemic related reasons.
Which is why it's all the more exciting that everyone's favourite fast food based game is finally back again - this time with a fantastic new addition to ensure it's more fun than ever.
We are, of course, talking about the first prize they've unveiled - a selection of VIP loyalty cards, which will be given out within the game, and are set to offer each lucky recipient a free medium meal each week for the whole entire year.
That's 12 months of Big Macs on tap...what a dream.
There are going to be 1,000 of the loyalty cards in circulation across the country, so they're literally going to be like gold dust. Forget Willy Wonka's golden ticket, this is what you should be hunting for!
Other prizes, revealed on Tuesday, include a Lay-Z-Spa hot tub, a £500 Missguided shopping spree and £1,000 to spend on home entertainment gadgets of your choice.
Plus, there will be tonnes of cash prizes, McDonald's food vouchers and beauty goodies on offer.
As always, the prizes will appear on selected menu items, and it'll be complete luck if you get hold of a good'un. You have to collect them like pieces on a Monopoly board, and when you get a full set you win.
The game will run for six weeks, kicking off at 11.30am on Wednesday.
Because of the delay to the Monopoly launch this year, it's important to note that many of the prizes will have the incorrect expiry dates on them, because they were meant to be used back in March.
Maccies told Tyla that due to the postponement mid-production, "packaging with over 200 million MONOPOLY game pieces had already been printed and dated."
As a result, McDonald's has repurposed the packaging to ensure that the Monopoly promotion could return to customers as soon as possible, and avoid any waste.
If you get a date that's wrong on your prize, you can check the up-to-date one by heading to the McDonald’s website.
