There are many ways we’d describe cheesy beans on toast: comforting, warming, tasty…but we wouldn’t describe them as posh.
We’d also avoid serving them as canapes at a party, but Marks and Spencer has other ideas.
The upmarket food outlet (known for its usually top-notch offerings and is the home of the legendary Colin the Caterpillar) is now selling boujie beans on toast as part of its Christmas range, touting the canapes ideal for any upcoming festive events.

While we imagine they’re certainly delicious, people can’t help but laugh at the foodstuff, after a photo of the allegedly posh nosh was shared on Facebook group ‘Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK’.
Racing to the comments, one person sarcastically wrote: “Height of poshness, here.”

A second person tagged her friend, adding: “Haha. There you go babe. Maybe posh Pot Noodle isn’t out the question now.”
“Oh God, I’ve seen it all now,” a third person laughed, while a fourth person posed the interesting question: “Does this mean you have posh farts too?”

While another person said: “Don’t get me wrong, I love M&S food…but I cant think of any situation where you’d ask someone: ‘Would you like a mini posh beans on toast?’”

Guys, you need to remember, these are not just cheesy beans on toast – these are M&S Posh Cheesy Beans on Toast.
In other M&S news, the brand’s arch rival Aldi couldn’t help but poke fun at the store in their Christmas advert.
Telling the story of the grumpy Ebanana Scrooge, a small Cuthbert the Caterpillar – Aldi’s version of M&S’s Colin, can be seen getting arrested – a nod to their ongoing legal proceedings about the chocolate party cake.
