We love a Dominos takeaway as much as the next person, but we do sometimes really feel the bloat the next day.
So that’s why the pizza brand has decided to try a more stomach-friendly watermelon pizza.
Yep, you read that correctly.

After seeing fellow TikTokker @elburritomonster make his spin on a watermelon pizza, the Australian outlet of the popular pizza store decided to get in on the action.
Slicing a watermelon into round ‘pizza base’ slices, the server then poured tomato sauce on the fruity centre, covered it in cheese and generously coated the surface with pepperoni slices.
While Domino’s conceded their watermelon pizza looked ‘pretty good’ out the oven, the strange invention sadly failed the taste test, with one tester looking less than impressed when he sank his teeth into the creation.
“We think it might be an acquired taste,” Domino’s wrote in the video, before adding in the comments: “In case you didn’t make it to the end, we also weren’t too into it.”
The TikTok, which has since racked up 400,000 views, left viewers similarly unimpressed.
“I feel bad for Italians,” one person wrote, clearly sympathising with the nation which has seen some of its best-loved cuisine sadly butchered.
“This is a war crime,” a second agreed, while a third said: “Mate, why?” before adding a skull and crossbones.
Others were so affronted they threatened to take their business elsewhere.
“Sorry, Dominos, but I guess Pizza Hut it is,” one person haughtily wrote, and a second said: “You see, Pizza Hut wouldn’t do this.”
However, not everyone was against the idea, with some even suggesting even more cursed ideas for a pizza base.
“Try it with a slice of pineapple,” one hell-raised suggested, alongside another person who also called for pineapple (which shouldn’t even be on pizza in the first place, let alone as a base).
Or maybe we can just have our pizza the way Italy intended? Thanks.
