It's clear not all newlyweds get to experience to typical honeymoon period after tying the knot, and that's exactly the case for one groom who reportedly was left with 'no option' but to call police after claiming his bride damaged his property.

Married At First Sight UK star Terence Edwards acalls police after accusing bride Porscha Pernnelle of cutting up his clothes and smashing two of his designer watches.

The ordeal came after fans of the Channel 4 show saw the couple say 'I do' just last night (25 September) after they met for the first time at the altar.

The alleged incident took place after the pair moved in together to their shared flat when father-of-three Terence made the decision to leave the reality TV experiment following one of the show's 'commitment ceremonies'.

After a heated row, Terrence, who works as a DJ, was shocked to discover various items of clothing and personal items including a Michael Kors and Hugo Boss watch were damaged.

He was then allegedly left with 'no option' but to notify authorities of the situation where they later reportedly questioned mum-of-one Porscha as she was the only other person with access to the Wembley flat.

However, insiders have reportedly said there was 'no evidence' found as to who damaged the items.

A source close to the programme told MailOnline: "Porscha and Terence struggled to get along during the process and often had different ideas about their marriage.

"On multiple occasions, Terence opted to leave the show while Porscha was keen to stay and so tensions continued to rise in their partnership."

The source continued: "Terence discovered one morning that belongings he left in his apartment had been damaged, his clothing torn up and his watches smashed.

"He had no option but to call the police because he suspected his bride may have been the cause."

Since then, as a gesture of good will, the broadcaster has replaced the groom's cut-out clothing and broken watches.

A Channel 4 spokesperson told Tyla: "Some clothing was damaged on location but the contributor had the items replaced or was reimbursed by production."

"Fair play to the show," Terrence admitted in a social media message seen by MailOnline, "it took forever, and it was stressful waiting, but they got all my stuff sorted in the end."

Tyla understands that Porscha has denied the allegations.

Married At First Sight UK is currently available to stream on Channel 4.
