Conchata Ferrell, the famous housekeeper Berta on Two and a Half Men, has sadly died.

The actor was 77 and passed as a result of complications following a cardiac arrest, according to Deadline.

She was surrounded by family at Sherman Oaks Hospital in Sherman Oaks, California, and died peacefully.

Her co-star from the sitcom, Charlie Sheen, has written on Twitter: "An absolute sweetheart, a consummate pro, a genuine friend, a shocking and painful loss. Berta, your housekeeping was a tad suspect, your 'people' keeping was perfect."

Her other co-star, Jon Cryer, added: "She was a beautiful human. Berta's gruff exterior was an invention of the writers. Chatty's warmth and vulnerability were her real strengths. I'm crying for the woman I'll miss, and the joy she brought so many."

Her role as Berta earned her two Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy in 2005 and 2007.

Conchata also copped an Emmy nomination in 1992 for her role as Susan Bloom on L.A. Law. She's also appeared on other TV shows such as Good Times, E/R, Grace and Frankie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and BJ and the Bear.

Her movie credits include Network, Mystic Pizza, True Romance, Erin Brockovich, Edward Scissorhands, and Krampus
