Netflix has released the trailer for your latest psychological thriller obsession, Chambers - starring Uma Thurman.

The intense two minute-long preview for the series sees teenager Sasha Yazzie - played by newcomer Sivan Alyra Rose - engulfed in guilt after undergoing a heart transplant.

She meets her grieving donor family, with Uma portraying mum Nancy Lefevre and Lilliya Reid playing Becky Lefevre, the prom queen who was tragically killed in a car accident.

Sasha and her dad begin to connect with the donor family, promising to honour their late daughter following the heart transplant.

And it seems like Sasha is struggling with the aftermath of the surgery, as she tries to wrap her head around the fact that someone had to die for her to still be alive.

Things start to turn even more sinister when Sasha starts to show characteristics and personality traits of her heart donor following the surgery, and she starts to discover the truth behind Becky's sudden and untimely death.

Also joining the starry line-up for the Netflix series is Tony Goldwyn as Ben, Becky's dad, who is described as a "warm charm and practical business acumen" who "conceals a mystical bent that knows no bounds".

Netflix

Chambers has been executive produced by Alfonso Gomez Rejon and created by Leah Rachel, with the latter saying: "Taking place in a mystic, New Age pocket of Arizona, Chambers is a psychological horror story that explores the different ways we metabolise trauma.

"But what starts out as a grounded human story eventually pivots into something far more strange and f*cked up than you were expecting."

Netflix's slogan for the new series is: "Bad things happen for a reason," adding to the mystery created by the new trailer. It hits the streaming giant later this month.

Chambers will be available to stream on Netflix from 26th April.
