Five Key Questions We Have After Watching The 'You' Season 2 Trailer

We have a lot of questions...

On Monday, the bone-chilling full-length trailer You was unveiled and as we watched creepy Joe Goldberg fall for Love Quinn in his newly-adopted home of Los Angeles, we were left with more questions than answers.

And we mean we have a lot of questions about the murderous bookstore owner, and you can be sure they will be plaguing us until the second series is released on Netflix on Boxing Day.

With so many theories swirling around our minds, here's the five questions that we keep coming back to after watching the season two trailer:

Is Beck still alive?

Based on Caroline Kepnes' best-selling novel of the same name, the anxiety-inducing series left us on the edge of our seats as Beck (Elizabeth Lail) was on the verge of uncovering Joe's secret, discovering several mementos including the phone she believed she had lost on the railway line.

Joe (Penn Badgley) then imprisoned her in the basement of his New York City bookstore in a glass box, as you do. Waiting until the right moment, Beck attempted to escape but viewers were led to believe the writer had become another one of his victims

The new trailer appears to return to that exact scene at the end of the first series and in the new teaser we see the back of Joe's head looking into the glass box and a body, covered in blood lying in the middle of it.

If the series is following the plot of the book series of the same name, then Beck is in fact dead and that's sadly her in the plexiglas cage - which if we look back at her outfit from the final episode of season one to that of the trailer, it's the same.

Yet, his ex-girlfriend Candace showed up alive in the final minutes - who many believed was dead, so stranger things have happened.

If Beck was secretly still alive, you can bet it would create a stream of problems for Joe.

What does Candace want?

At the end of the final episode, viewers (and Joe for that matter) were left stunned when his ex Candace showed up in the bookstore.

His former flame had been teased throughout the first series as the one who broke his heart, or rather the trigger for his murderous streak.

The way he spoke about Candace to her friends, Beck and acquaintances, made many assume he had murdered her - and she was not just in Italy like he kept saying.

But *plot twist* she wasn't, and Candace made herself known to Joe in the very last moments of the season one finale.

In the new trailer, it looks as though she will play a major part in trying to foil Joe's new alias 'Will' as she arrives to Los Angeles and confronts him about Beck's disappearance.

She says: "You did it again, didn't you?"

We are then treated to shots of her peering at him over her shoulder at a funeral, from behind her heart-shaped sunnies and then flashbacks of her running through a dark wood from Joe.

What does Candace know? What does she want? We feel we may finally find out...

Whose blood is Joe covered in?

One thing that was very apparent in the new teaser was that there was a lot of blood - on the floor, on knives but mainly on Joe's hands.

In one particular scene in the trailer, Joe or 'Will' as he goes by in the second series, sits in a bath, looking at his blood-soaked hands, moments after wielding a sharp kitchen knife over a naked man's body.

Firstly, whose body could that be and whose blood is on his hands?

Whose body is he trying to conceal?

At another point in the trailer, Joe is seen sneakily trying to remove a body from a car in the middle of the night, but it's rather difficult to see who that person is and if they are in fact dead.

No stranger to cold-blooded murder, viewers watched as Joe killed four different characters in the first series.

The very first death was that of Beck's kind-of boyfriend Benji, who was kidnapped by Joe and held inside the glass book vault. Joe murdered Benji by lacing his coffee with peanut oil, which he was highly allergic to.

Next, Beck's BFF Peach Salinger unfortunately faced the chop when she in her own way was too stalking Beck. Joe murdered her on her family's estate in Greenwich, Connecticut while fighting over a gun.

The bookstore owner then framed her death to look like a suicide - something her family are incredibly suspicious about.

In flashbacks, we learn that Joe's ex-girlfriend Candace cheated on him with a music industry exec named Elijah. Poor Elijah met his maker when Joe pushed him off the edge of a building.

One murder which conflicted viewers was that of Ron, the abusive boyfriend of Joe's neighbour Claudia and stepfather to Paco, who Joe befriends.

Nasty Ron gets he comeuppance when Joe stabs him the neck after beating Claudia so badly that she winds up in hospital.

Where is Doctor Nicky?

As if Joe did not have enough on his plate, there's also Doctor Nicky (John Stamos), who he framed for Beck's disappearance.

At the end of season one, viewers watched as Beck's psychiatrist was handcuffed and taken to prison accused of the murder of Beck, after Joe had planted evidence at his home.

Although we didn't see him in the trailer, viewers have long suspected that Dr. Nicky is in jail dreaming of ways to seek revenge for his wrongful prison stint.

But nothing has hinted to that in the new teaser, so perhaps we will see the doctor's return at a later date...

So many questions but thank God, we only have to wait nine days to get the answers.
