Now, Coral is slashing odds on who will replace her on the show, with the Radio One DJ currently at the front of the pack with odds of 5/6.
Other big names include Ant and Dec, who trail not far behind Maya with odds of 5/2 - perhaps following the success of their Love Island themed trial on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! this year.
The show's much loved sarcastic narrator Iain Stirling comes in third with odds of 3/1, closely followed by his girlfriend, former I'm A Celebrity spin-off host, Laura Whitmore, who also worked on ITV's Survival Of The Fittest.
Other big ITV names in the running include Rylan Clark-Neal (4/1) and even TOWIE legend Gemma Collins (9/2)... imagine the scenes.
Meanwhile This Morning's Holly Willoughby also stands with odds at 6/1 while The Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts is also being tipped.
There are several other celebs in the mix with better odds, although their chances of getting the gig seem slightly lower.
Loose Women's Stacey Solomon currently sits at 10/1, while Love Island's Maura Higgins has odds of 12/1 despite her boyfriend Curtis rubbishing claims she was heading to Cape Town, following her very suggestive Instagram posts telling winter to "do one".
Coming in right at the bottom of the pack, but nevertheless being considered by some, last year's contestant Molly-Mae Hague currently has odds of 14/1.
Bookies Coral spokesman John Hill explained: "Many of our punters feel as though Maya Jama is the perfect replacement for Caroline Flack on Love Island.
"After a flurry of bets behind the radio DJ, she is the odds-on favourite for the role.
"Ant and Dec are also prominent in the betting now they are fresh from the jungle, while Iain Stirling does an excellent job at voicing the show and could be under consideration to step up to present."
Caroline Flack was arrested and charged with assault by beating on Friday morning following a dispute with her boyfriend Lewis Burton at her North London home. It comes just four weeks before the hit dating show is set to return to screens.
She made the announcement that she was stepping down earlier today following her arrest in the early hours of Friday morning.
Writing: "There have been a significant number of media reports and allegations in regards to my personal life. While matters were not as have been reported, I am committed to co-operating with the appropriate authorities and I can't comment further on these matters until the legal process is over.
"However, Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it's the best show on telly."
"In order to not distract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for Series 6.
"I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town."
Since her arrest, speculation about Caroline's replacement has been rife on social media.
"If @MayaJama does not replace Caroline Flack on love island i'll be incredibly sad," one person wrote.
While another added: "Caroline Flack has quit love island ? @itv2 hire Maya Jama NOWWWW".
A third chipped in: "Petition for Gemma Collins to be the new Love Island Presenter to replace Caroline Flack".
