Netflix is bringing us a brand new creepy thriller, and it sounds like it's going to have us hooked.

Alex Pina, creator of Money Heist (also known as La Casa de Papel) has penned a brand new 10-part crime drama called White Lines - all about a dead body that is discovered in the Balearic Islands, and the mystery that unfurls in the aftermath.

It turns out said body is that of Manchester DJ, Axel, who was well known in his prime, but had been missing for 20 whole years prior.

So, what's he doing on a beach in Spain? And what led to his unfortunate demise? We're getting Broadchurch vibes, already... but way more adult.

The series will follow Axel's sister Zoe (Laura Haddock) as she returns to the beautiful Spanish island in a bid for the truth.

Filmed in and around plush and at times hedonistic holiday locations, Majorca and Ibiza, scenes will air in both Spanish and English (predominantly the latter) and see Zoe retrace his steps, featuring a whole lot of partying, drugs and violence.

She's instantly suspicious of his friends - but what are they hiding? And as for the detectives, will they even listen when she tries to tell them there's more to the story?

Along the way, Zoe is forced to confront some of her own personal battles, too, and discovers not only a lot about her sibling, but also herself.

It's not just Guardians of the Galaxy star Laura who stars in the series, as she'll be joined by Victoria actor, Laurence Fox, Shazam's Marta Milans, Line Of Duty's Daniel Mays and Angela Griffin, from Turn Up Charlie.

The series will be landing on the streaming platform on 15th May.

And we can certainly expect big things, as the Majorca Daily Bulletin is already reporting plans for a second season to be shot in Ibiza.

Of course, this was reported ahead of the coronavirus pandemic, but at least we know it's on the cards...
