White Lines fans are calling for a spin-off about Boxer amid the news that the series has been axed.

Devastated that they wouldn't be able to get their fill of hunky actor Nuno Lopes as Duarte "Boxer" Silva on the Netflix show, they've now suggested a solution: give him a series of his own.

And we're not mad at the idea, tbh...

Writing under Tyla's post as we announced the show wasn't returning, one fan wrote: "Just do a spin off show with the fella who plays Boxer... only reason i watched it was to see him haha (sic)".

Another replied: "Totally agree , he was gorg".

Over on Twitter, people had the same idea, too.

A Spanish fan penned: "Since there is not going to be season 2 of White Lines [they could at least do] a spinoff focused on Boxer".

While another said teased the show's axe "makes way for a spinoff". We can dream.

There are certainly a lot of Boxer fans online who would be happy at the prospect of seeing more of as the Calafat family's head of security.

As news of the show's cancellation hit the Twittersphere, one person wrote: "Why is [there] not going to be a season 2 of white lines! i need my boxer fix @NunoLopesTweets".

As another said: "Gutted there will be no White Lines season 2...Gonna miss Boxer on my screen".

"Gutted white lines has been axed, no more fitty boxer," a third wrote.

It comes after Daniel Mays broke the news that the show wouldn't be renewed for a second instalment on Saturday, writing on Instagram: "Following the reports in the press over the past couple of days and for all those asking me on here, it's with a heavy heart I post the #WhiteLines season 2 ship has well and truly sailed."

The actor thanked Netflix for the "ride of a lifetime" and spared a thought for his fans too.

Daniel later added that he thought the reason behind the show's axing was because the ending of its first season was "tied up".

He said: "Part of me thinks it was tied up, you found out who killed Axel, so it works as a limited series but it clearly also had scope going forward for much more."

News of the show's axing comes days after co-star Angela Griffin, who played Anna, recently revealed that things were "very quiet on the White Lines hotline".

The show's first season followed Laura Haddock's Zoe on a trip to Ibiza, after her brother Axel's body is discovered 20 years after he went missing.

Listen to the people, Netflix! We want more Boxer and want him now.
