It's the news we've been waiting for! We're one step closer to Season 4 of Killing Eve after Jodie Comer announced filming started today - Monday 7th June.

Revealing the update on the red carpet at Sunday night's BAFTA Awards, Jodie was asked when shooting was starting on the series. She said: "Tomorrow! Yes... don't worry I've pre-ordered my taxi, I'm not gonna' be hungover, I'll be very sensible."

Tyla also reached out to a rep for the show, who confirmed the exciting development.

Season 4 was announced back in January 2020, with the BBC subsequently confirming it would be the last for Eve, Oksana "Villanelle" Astankova and the rest of the gang.

It's believed there will be eight episodes, expected to air at some point next year. The show usually arrives in the UK a little later however, with American fans able to watch it first.

While the fourth will be the final series, it's reported there could be a number of spin-offs on the horizon, once the show wraps.

Speaking about what it's like to play Villanelle, Jodie told Tyla recently: "I just had so much fun. I've been in such strange funny situations and I've met some amazing people, I think that's what I'll miss the most. I'm interested to see where series 4 goes.

"... I think I learned on this job [that] as long as there is truth in what you are saying, acting can be big and it can be bold and it can be in your face and it can be a bit ugly. It can be all these different things."

And speaking of her co-star Sandra Oh, Jodie added: "She's been incredible to me considering where the show started.

"I remember people saying to her 'This show could be kind of a big thing, we're just warning you so you can prepare yourself,' and she always put her arm around me in that way."

Meanwhile, in a statement, Sandra added: "Killing Eve has been one of my greatest experiences and I look forward to diving back into Eve's remarkable mind soon.

"I'm so grateful for all cast and crew who have brought our story to life and to the fans who have joined us and will be back for our exciting and unpredictable fourth and final season."
