Derren Brown Returns To TV With A Two Hour Live Show This Summer

To celebrate 20 years of incredible performances on Channel 4, Derren Brown is returning to telly this summer with a brand new live stunt. We are so excited...

The multi award winning trickster will pull out all the stops to surprise an unsuspecting viewer in Derren Brown, 20 Years of Mind Control: Live.

The show will air in honour of some of the performer's most jaw-dropping and nerve wracking moments on TV, with Derren, 49, performing both his new psychological stunt as well as some his best-loved tricks from the last two decades.

The two hour special will also recap on the incredible stories behind each stunt and run through the mind boggling logistics involved.

These include the Russian Roulette Live, hypnotising a member of the public into attempting to assassinate Stephen Fry and - who could forget - correctly predicting the National Lottery results.

Viewers will also have the opportunity to vote for the nation's favourite Derren Brown special, which the trickster will introduce after the show. Voting for this will open a few weeks before.

Speaking about the celebratory show, Derren said: "Twenty years! That was quick. And what a treat to be given this night by the broadcaster that has been so very supportive and nurturing over that time.

"I can't imagine two decades with anyone else. It's going to be a fun night."

Meanwhile, Phil Harris, Head of Entertainment at Channel 4 said: "There are very few people within the entertainment industry capable of raising the exhilaration stakes in quite the way Derren does and with him at the helm, this very special celebration should be no different."

Derren first appeared on our screens back in 2000 with his first Channel 4 series, Derren Brown: Mind Control. He has since gone on to film six shows as well as 13 specials across two decades.

One of his most notorious stunts was the 2012 Apocalypse in which a member of the public was tricked into believing the world was ending and he was living among zombies.

While the release date has not yet been confirmed, Derren Brown, 20 Years of Mind Control: Live is expected to air later this summer.
