John Lewis has finally shared its full 2018 Christmas advert after speculation arose that it would star Elton John.

And it looks like fans were bang on, as the advert follows how one gift inspired a little boy's entire life.

This little boy turns out to be English musician Sir Elton John - you can watch the full advert here:

The department store dropped hints about the advert throughout the week, with This Morning changing its theme tune to piano music.

John Lewis' flagship store on London's Oxford Street also changed its name to just 'John', and shoppers were convinced they had sussed the ad out ahead of its release.

The department store's festive advert is arguably the most highly-anticipated of them all, and you're guaranteed to need tissues to dry those tears.

John Lewis' 2017 ad was titled 'Moz The Monster', and hit viewers right in the festive feels when it aired last November.

The two-minute advert told the tale of a little kid called Joe, who was kept awake by a 7ft imaginary monster called Moz living under his bed.
