Viewers In Tears Over 'Heartbreaking' Scene In The Bay S2

*This article contains major spoilers for The Bay Season 2*

Ever since Season 2 of The Bay dropped on ITV Hub, viewers have been so gripped, they've binge-watched all episodes in one sitting.

But there was one scene, in episode three of the new series, that has left viewers absolutely heartbroken (and reaching for the tissues).

If you've already watched Season 2, you'll likely know which scene we're talking about... Yep, it's the devastating moment when DC Med Karim (played by Taheen Modak) is murdered at the end of episode three.

The heartbreaking scene comes as Med - who has always been a firm fan favourite - was investigating a new lead in the case.

The detective can be seen looking around some very suspicious properties - linked to Stephen (the murder victim in Season 2) and his father-in-law, Bill.

In the scene, Med is being watched from the window of one of the houses, while a mysterious person can be heard on the phone saying he will "take care" of him.

Moments later, and while Med is on the phone to Lisa Armstrong (played by Morven Christie), he is hit by a car from behind, sending him crashing down onto the road.

The car stops and, unable to speak, Med is seen desperately trying to reach for his radio as the car then reverses back over him.

It was a truly shocking moment for fans, and as Lisa arrives on the scene and Med is pronounced dead, viewers were left reeling over what had happened.

Speaking about the scene, one person tweeted: "Binge watched The Bay and it was amazing. @_DanielRyan was superb as were many of the other cast members. Heartbroken and shocked about Med and what happened to him #TheBay @ITV Roll on the next series."

While another added: "WELL I did not expect to be CRYING MY EYES OUT watching 'The Bay' on a Wednesday evening."

A third wrote: "Be warned, episode 3 of The Bay.. it's really upsetting. At here with tears in my eyes. #TheBay."

Others called for a Season 3 of The Bay, after praising the second instalment for its "brilliant" plot and "talented" cast.

"Finished The Bay last night & was great, really got into this & never predicted the ending. Please tell me another series is coming, need to know there'll be justice for Med," tweeted another.

If there is a Season 3, we desperately need to see justice for Med!
