ITV's New Detective Drama 'Van Der Valk' Is Coming Soon
Fans of the likes of Marcella, Luther and Sherlock, get excited - we have a feeling ITV's upcoming detective drama will be right up your street.
Coming to the channel later this year, Van Der Valk follows Simon van der Valk, a cynical yet intuitive Dutch detective.
The gritty drama will feature three feature-length episodes - written by Chris Murray whose previous credits include Midsomer Murders (so you know you're in good hands) - as viewers follow the brooding detective on a series of cases in Amsterdam.
ITV is remaining light-lipped on plot lines, but we do know that the titular character will be played by Marc Warren (Beecham House, The Good Wife, The Musketeers), while Maimie McCoy (White House Farm, A Confession) will star as Lucienne Hassell, Van Der Valk's partner.
Supporting cast includes Emma Fielding (Unforgotten), Elliot Barnes-Worrell (Dolittle), Luke Allen-Gale (Dominion), Darrell D'Silva (Informer) Frances Grey (Ordeal by Innocence), Daniel Lapaine (Catastrophe), Stephanie Leonidas (Defiance), Vineeta Rishi (Collateral), Mike Libanon (Kill Switch), Kees Boot (Judas) and Reinout Bussemaker.
While there's no official release date yet, Van De Valk began filming in July 2019, so we're expected to get it late this year - provided its not being delayed amid COVID-19.

Van Der Talk is a remake of the crime drama which ran sporadically from 1972 to 1992. It starred the late Barry Foster in the lead role.
ITV also released a first-look image of the cast, showing Marc Warren, Maimie McCoy, Luke Allen-Gale, Elliot Barnes-Worrell, Darrell D'Silva and Emma Fielding all in character in the Dutch capital.
Stay tuned for more details about Van Der Valk as they come. We can't wait for this.
