The trailer for new bloodthirsty vampire TV series called V Wars has arrived and it stars Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder.
Ian is set to star as Dr Luther Swann, a scientist living in a world where a virus has just transformed his best friend into a vampire.
The one minute 57 second trailer starts with two frightened children who hear something downstairs in the middle of the night.
It quickly flicks to a news report where the newsreader explains attacks have been taking place, reported to be by vampires, naturally.
Soon we see Ian explaining to his colleagues that the virus transferred to those that have been bitten by vampires is "modified" and causes "DNA transformations".
Next up in the clip is Adrian Holmes, playing Michael Fayne, the doctor's best friend who has already been bitten and is asking for his help.
Dr Swann, then promises his friend: "Together we will find a cure". What a guy.
But, it seems the doctor doesn't find a cure instantly, because the trailer soon flits to Michael who is promising a war on those unaffected by the virus.
He says: "My people and I have as much right to live as anyone else, we are not terrorists."
He goes on to promise: "Blood nation will prevail".
Cue a lot of worried faces and concern about how quick the virus is spreading, alongside words on screen that read: "You can't win a war, without a thirst for blood". Sensical, but creepy.
As the trailer rolls onwards, we see fighting, gun shots and of course a bit of what could be romance thrown in there too.
But will the doctor remain on the 'good' side? It's hard to tell, especially with the lure of an attractive woman who appears to be a vampire and his best friend also fighting for the other team.
Plus, when Ian gave a first look of his character last year on Instagram, the caption suggested he may not be as trustworthy as he first appears.
It read: "Here he is... @drlutherswannofficial aka Dr Luther Swann. Would you trust this man?" Interesting.
Having starred as a vampire and then a vampire fighter in past series Vampire Diaries, we'd say he's a great man for the goodie or baddie role so we'll just have to wait and see.
The show, set to land on Netflix as an Original on 5th December will have ten episodes and is based on Jonathan Maberry's best-selling IDW graphic novel collection.
Not long to wait now!
