Start rehearsing your best bar-top dance routine, because Tyra Banks just confirmed that a Coyote Ugly reboot is in the works.

Yep, a whole twenty years after the original flick scooped $113 million at the box office, fans of the millennial musical could be getting a movie sequel or follow-up TV series.

Tyra, 46, spilled the tea on the possible reboot while appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday 7th October.

Hit romance-musical 'Coyote Ugly' was released in 2000 and sound-tracked by Lianne Rimes (

During her interview, the Dancing With the Stars host and supermodel revealed that she was due to speak with actress Mario Bello, who played Lil in the 2000 film, about making Coyote Ugly 2.

Chatting with host Kelly, Tyra said: "I was supposed to be on a conference call today about bringing Coyote Ugly back.

"Maria Bello, one of the stars of Coyote Ugly, we were supposed to be on a call. Yes, we are talking about trying to do Coyote Ugly 2 or a series."

Kelly spoke for all Coyote devotees everywhere when she gushed: "You should do it!"

Tyra then reminisced with Kelly about how she nailed her audition.

"For my audition for Coyote Ugly, they asked me what song I wanted to play," said the model and producer.

"I was like, 'OK, I'll take Prince's Kiss. They push play. I'm in this huge hotel room, all these casting people lined up looking at me. And I'm dancing. I'm head whipping."

She went on: "The whole song I ended up dancing. Then after I'm out of breath, and then they all just started laughing. They're like, 'We are so sorry, but we were enjoying that so much, we kept the music going.'"

Given that two whole decades have gone by since the original film's release, Kelly quizzed Tyra on whether she would still have the moves for a reboot.

"I feel like I do have the dance moves, as long as no one choreographs me and tells me exactly how to dance," replied Tyra.

She then joked that she was "tempted" to get dance lessons with renowned choreographer Derek Hough ahead of the sequel, adding: "I'm asking you now, Derek. Can you choreograph that for me?"

The original movie (as if you needed reminding!) follows aspiring songwriter Violet Sanford (portrayed by Piper Perabo) as she pursues a music career in New York City.

Working at bar Coyote Ugly to make a little extra cash on the side, Violet is welcomed into a family of all-singing, all-dancing female bar workers.

With a generous dose of cheesy romance and a soundtrack from Lianne Rimes, the film was an early 00s hit.

The real Coyote Ugly Saloon in NYC - on which the film is based - was founded in 1993 by Liliana "Lil" Lovell.

Whether we could see Tyra's fellow cast members Adam Garcia, Izabella Miko, John Goodman, Bridget Moynahan and Melanie Lynskey on board for a reboot is yet to be seen.

We'll be doing a little prayer dance to the screen gods (in low-slung denim and cowboy boots, obviously) to make this sequel happen.
