Sir Trevor McDonald's new documentary on serial killers Myra Hindley and Rose West is coming to ITV next week.
Rose West & Myra Hindley: Their Untold Story will delve into the prison years of two of Britain's most infamous and evil criminals, who embarked on a love affair after meeting in jail.
Shedding fresh light on the murdering duo, the 60-minute documentary is presented by Sir Trevor McDonald, who navigates viewers through Hindley and West's behaviour in prison.
On conviction West, 41, was sent to the H 'Hell Wing' in HMP Durham, which is where 52-year-old Hindley also resided, alongside many of Britain's most serious female prisoners, including IRA terrorists, sex offenders, and arsonists.
The pair bonded over similar crimes during their time behind bars. While moors murderer Hindley was dubbed one of the most wicked women in the UK for killing five children in the 1960s - alongside lover Ian Brady - West was found guilty of 10 similar murders with her husband Fred West, including their own daughter.
Featuring an array of witnesses, including fellow prisoners, the doc will delve into how Hindley and West grew close in jail, with their friendship eventually developing into an affair.
Viewers will learn how their relationship eventually cooled off as they battled for the role of 'jail royalty' and soon the pair turned into rivals.
As the only two women to be given life sentences behind bars (meaning they would never be released) the doc also explores how Hindley tried to manipulate people from jail, such as persuading a nun-turned-prison guard to help her escape.
West, meanwhile, would demand favours from her children and attempted to control their lives, even from jail. She still has episodes of extreme anger and rage, something she also displayed on the outside world.
Rose West & Myra Hindley: Their Untold Story will air on Monday 21st September at 9pm on ITV1.
This sounds like it will definitely be a gripping and harrowing watch...
