This is not a drill. Tom Hardy is returning to present CBeebies Bedtime Stories where he will be dishing out *six* brand new tales.

The 42-year-old Peaky Blinders star announced the news on Instagram , posting a shot of his garden in Richmond, south-west London, where filming took place for the new collection of stories (in line with social distancing measures, of course).

"CBeebies... staying safe. Staying in touch," he captioned the photo.

"Kids still need entertaining, sending love to all parents out there, hang tough."

Seriously, could we love him anymore?

Doing his bit in this unnerving time, Tom will read a new story every day. Dubbed 'Tom Week' the stories will start on Monday 27th April until Friday 1st May. The date of his sixth and final story is yet to be confirmed.

Accompanied by his French bulldog, Blue, Tom will first read Hug Me by Simone Ciraolo.

It's all about Felipe - a young cactus who needs a hug but unsurprisingly, his family aren't the touchy-feely kind. Instead, he sets off to find a friend who can give him the cuddle he craves.

"Hello. I'm Tom. Sometimes, on a day like this, I feel strong and happy. But on other days, I just need somebody to give me a hug," Tom begins.

"Tonight's bedtime story is all about a little cactus called Felipe, who just wants a hug too."

He concludes the story by reassuring viewers: "So, in the end Felipe found someone to hug. It's not always possible to hug the ones that you love. But they're always there, in your heart."

No, *you're* crying.

Other stories include, Under the Same Sky by Robert Vescio and Nicky Johnston, which is about two children living on opposite sides of the world who crave friendship; There's a Tiger in the Garden by Lizzy Stewart; Don't Worry, Little Crab by Chris Haughton and The Problem with Problems by Rachel Rooney and Zehra Hicks.

Cheryl Taylor, Head of Content at BBC Children's, said: "It goes without saying how thrilled we are to have Tom reading more stories for us.

"It's during challenging times like this that the BBC serves its purpose to entertain the whole of the UK and these new stories are guaranteed to do just that with their themes of long distance friendship, sharing problems and true courage in overcoming seemingly impossible challenges."

Tom has been requested one million times since he first appeared on Bedtime Stories in 2016 (

Tom first appeared on CBeebies Bedtime Stories in 2016 and since then, he's been requested one million times by parents (on behalf of their kids... obviously!)

This week, fans have been expressing their excitement at the prospect of Tom returning to screens.

One mum wrote on Instagram: "Yeah my lil man will enjoy [this]. Hmm and maybe me too."

Another said: "CBeebies getting Tom Hardy to do another bedtime story in these trying times, worth the licence fee all on its very own, many thanks to these core essential workers bringing us vital sustenance."

Big thanks to Tom for doing his bit amongst the uncertainty. What a guy!

Tom's stories will air from Monday 27th April until Friday 1st May at 6.50pm on the CBeebies channel. They will also be available on BBC iPlayer.
