With the UK social distancing and self-isolating, it helps to have an addictive Netflix show to binge-watch. And if you're yet to give Tiger King a try, you're in for an absolute treat.

The new true crime series is a complete whirlwind (in a good way) with users calling it "bonkers" and "f***ing mental". It landed on the streaming platform on Friday and fans have admitted to binge-watching all seven episode in one weekend.

The docu-series focuses on Joseph Maldonado-Passage (aka Joe Exotic) - a big cat owner and country western singer who presides over a zoo in Oklahoma.

Maldonado-Passage is obsessed with tigers and has a passion for big cats in general, as does his circle of drug kingpins, conmen and cult leaders who work with him at the zoo.

But when Carole Baskin, an animal activist and sanctuary owner threatens their business, things take a very dark twist.

The series focuses on Joe Exotic who was arrested for a murder for hire plot (
Santa Rosa County Jail)

Carole - who is described as the "Mother Teresa of cats" and wants to end the private possession of the animals - threatens to put Maldonado-Passage out of business and a dangerous rivalry begins between the two.

As the conflict continues, events escalate dramatically and Joe is eventually arrested for a 'murder-for-hire plot'.

Joe was found guilty of two counts of murder-for-hire, eight counts of violating the Lacey Act (prohibition of illegal wildlife trade) and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act.

The basic storyline of the true-crime is shocking enough, but if you've watched - or even started watching - you'll know there are *so* many somewhat surreal twists and turns throughout.

It's pretty disturbing at times and you'll be left speechless at what unfolds. Viewers have been calling it "all types of crazy" with one admitting they were gutted they'd binge-watched all episodes so quickly, wishing they'd spaced it out throughout their quarantine.

They wrote: "Finished Tiger King last night on Netflix. And honestly, that was a wild ride from beginning to end. I'm sad I watched it so early in this self-quarantine situation because I might need it later."

Another tweeted: "Tiger King on @netflix is a journey. Great self isolation material."

One person said they found it so surreal it actually stopped them panicking about coronavirus. "Tiger King on Netflix is so surreal that it honestly broke me out of my corona induced panic," they tweeted.

Others advised binge-watching immediately, with one writing: "If you're looking for something to binge on Netflix, watch Tiger King it's soooo good."

Another tweeted: "If you're isolating at home today, treat yourself to binge watching Tiger King on Netflix. You can thank me later!"

Meanwhile, one self-isolating viewer pointed out: "During these must stay home vibes @netflix did us a SOLID by releasing Tiger King."

We totally agree. Guys, stay at home and watch Tiger King - we can guarantee you'll be entertained for at least seven hours of the day.
