This article contains spoilers for season one of You.

After a thrilling first season of stalking, murderous book clerks and a terminal need for net curtains, Netflix has already given season two of You the go-ahead.

At the end of the first creepy series, Beck (played by Elizabeth Lail) appeared to be have been killed by Joe (played by Gossip Girl's Lonely Boy, Penn Badgley). But fans are wondering if Beck really is dead.

After all, Joe hadn't in fact killed his ex-girlfriend Candace (played by Ambyr Childers) as viewers were led to believe. Twitter thinks the Netflix series will pull another plot twist, and have Beck pop up in the flesh. After all, all we saw was Joe grabbing Beck, we didn't see a body that wasn't wrapped in a sheet or crazy Joe actually committing the crime.

But according to Elizabeth their doubts are unfounded, she told Vulture: "I didn't fully know what I was auditioning for, and then I started reading the book, and I really didn't think she was gonna die.

"I thought it was gonna be some heroic justice at the end, but it's more true to life that she does die, unfortunately.

"It's more likely that someone would die in that situation."

Unlike Candace, Beck is actually suffocated by Joe in the book written by Caroline Kepnes.

It's unclear if Beck will be back for season two as she is now deceased - but there could be Candace-like flashbacks.

Elizabeth admitted she was "bummed" not to be returning for the next season.

Season two is based on the sequel to You titled Hidden Bodies and will see Joe move to LA but delves deeper into his past - surely Beck is going to feature somewhere?

At the end of season one, seemingly meeting the same fate as her artisanal soda-making ex-boyfriend, Benji, Joe locked Beck in his bookshop's cage, intending to give her a fighting chance for survival.

Beck almost pulls off an escape by writing a memoir framing her former flame Dr Nicky (played by John Stamos) in the hopes Joe will set her free.

Joe falls for it and opens the door of the storage unit but Beck then stabs Joe in the stomach with the typewriter keys and tried to escape the basement insisting she could never love Joe (because: stalker).

She manages to open the first door but is locked behind the second and little Paco (played by 15-year-old Luca Padovan) runs away when she begs him to open the door.

Because of toxic masculinity, taking his power away seems to trigger Joe, and In the final moments of the season finale, he explains that Beck is 'gone'.

Beck's book is released posthumously and became a best-seller due to the juicy fact that its author was murdered by her therapist.

Non-murderous, yet problematic sleazeball, Dr. Nicky is arrested for Joe's crimes and Joe is free to stalk the next woman who doesn't understand how windows work in season two.
