Don't ever change, Alison.

Just when we thought we couldn't love the relatable icon that is Alison Hammond any more, she made a hilarious gaffe on a Halloween segment on Wednesday's This Morning.

Dressed up in a very fetching witch hat and surrounded by carved pumpkins, Alison was ready to share some inspiration for Halloween celebrations with viewers.

As show hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby turned to chat to her, the pair picked up on the fact that their fellow presenter was saying 'Treacle Treat' rather than 'Trick or Treat'.

Looking perplexed, Phil and Holly began to quiz Alison on what they assumed was a one-off blunder.

"Treacle Treat?" asked a baffled Phil. "What's a Treacle Treat?"

A surprised Alison replied: "Is it not Treacle Treat?"

Phil, clearly amused, then answered: "It's not treacle - it's Trick or Treat!"

Cue the lightbulb moment when Alison realised that she'd been mispronouncing 'trick or treat' HER ENTIRE LIFE.

"No way!" she exclaimed. "Are you serious? I thought it was Treacle Treat. I'm 45 years old and I never knew that."

We don't know what a treacle treat is, Alison, but it sounds pretty delicious, and we're into it.

Wanting to run with the joke, Phil continued by asking Alison if she used to spend Halloween popping round to other people's houses for treacle-based snacks.

All three struggled to hold it together.

Holly quipped: "You're the perfect person to do this item, great!"

Naturally, Twitter users went wild for Alison's comical blunder.

"Omg Alison Hammond has just revealed she thought it was treacle treat instead of trick or treat," wrote one amused viewer.

"Alison Hammond only learning today that it's "trick or treat" not "treacle treat" I am OBSESSED she is a NATIONAL TREASURE," said another.

We'll be trying out the new wording ourselves this Halloween - never change, Alison.
