Some viewers have taken to Twitter to call out Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for being 'rude' to guest chef James Martin on This Morning.

During Monday's episode, James appeared in the studio to share his recipe for chocolate choux buns, but some viewers were left baffled when they noticed Holly and Phillip's strange behaviour.

See the awkwardness unfold for yourself in the video below:

According to some viewers, the presenting duo were speaking over the top of James and Phil kept cutting him off and yawning during his cooking presentation.

Holly then joined in to ask lots of unusual questions before Phil said he had a cramp in his arm, causing yet another distraction from the cooking segment.

It was a very strange day on the This Morning set...

While some found the interactions entertaining, others took to Twitter to express their shock at the scenes. One person shared: "Holly and Phil being so rude whilst James Martin is cooking".

A second person added: "Holly and Phil were really rude to @jamesmartinchef today. I felt sorry for him, he's trying to demonstrate how to cook the choux buns and was constantly interrupted with snide remarks. #unprofessional #ThisMorning Well done James for carrying on!"

"Holly and Phil behaving as they normally do. All about them," said another.

"I felt so sorry for him. So rude to Martin," a fourth person agreed.

The behaviour was so bizarre that other viewers even suspected Ant and Dec might have been meddling behind the scenes.

Some viewers think it was all part of a prank (

During their much loved Saturday Night Takeaway prank 'Get out of my ear', the cheeky presenting duo regularly make celebrities say and do embarrassing things during everyday scenarios.

One viewer tweeted: "What is going on with Phil and Holly on @thismorning this has to be a, I'm celebrity get out of me ear."
