This Morning viewers were left in stitches on Wednesday after convincing themselves that show guest Dr Jenny Harries had committed a bit of a faux pas live on air.

Yep, as the Deputy Chief Medical Officer appeared on the ITV show to speak to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about the state of the coronavirus pandemic in the country right now, a large trumping noise could be heard.

Of course, it was most probably the sound of the doctor's chair scraping on the ground, or something of the like, but it didn't take sniggering viewers long to jump to conclusions....

Watch the video and decide for yourselves:

"Hi Dr Jenny, did you just trump live on @thismorning? #ThisMorning," wrote on viewer, as they shared a clip of the moment on Twitter.

While another penned: "Did she just fart?," alongside two eyeball emojis.

"Good. It wasn't just me who heard the live fart on #ThisMorning," another wrote.

As a fourth quipped: "@thismorning Well done Holly & Phil keeping a straight face when someone ripped off a big fart during Covid interview."

During her chat on This Morning, Dr Jenny had actually been talking about the very serious matter of our country's coronavirus risk factor, and the easing of lockdown measures.

But hey, we all love a good fart joke, don't we?!

The moment comes just before Phil and Holly are set to take a break from This Morning for the summer holidays, to the dismay of their loyal lockdown viewers.

Phil announced their annual hiatus during a game of Spin To Win, and he's already using it as an excuse to bend the rules on set.

Lowering down the prize for one of their contestants, he pulled out a puzzle and a bag of rock salt, and quipped: "Is that seriously it?!"

He then added: "We're off for the summer on Friday so they can't sack me!" LOL.

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will be filling in for the duo in their absence, as is usually the way when they take time off for summer.
