This Is Us fans looking forward to a straightforward wedding episode were dealt with a shocking blow during season 5 finale, after what fans assumed would see Kevin and Madison finally tie knot ended with the pair calling off their wedding.
In even more shocking turn of events, a flashforward suggests Toby and Kate have also separated, with Kate preparing to exchange vows with Philip.

Despite their relationship being quite rocky in recent weeks, fans had been looking forward to seeing Kevin and Madison, who recently welcomed twins, get married.
Unfortunately, Kevin (aka 'Groomzilla') started to question whether Madison was truly the one for him. Sensing his hesitation, the pair call off their wedding and decide to co-parent their twins after Madison made Kevin admit he doesn't love her.
Meanwhile, Kate and Toby made difficult decisions about their family and eventually agreed to try a long distance marriage. Toby took a job in San Francisco while Kate keeps her teaching job after her boss Phillip pleads with her to stay.
Then we flash forward to four years on and we see Kevin practicing a wedding speech, but fans assumed he was practicing a speech for his own wedding. It's Kate's wedding and she's marrying her grumpy boss Phillip.

This means at some point during the next five years, Kate and Toby will divorce.
