If you haven't watched Netflix's Russian Doll yet, then quite frankly what are you doing with your life? But, you might want to look away now because this fan theory is about to reveal from pretty big spoilers from the final episode.

For those who haven't seen the series but are brave enough to read on, series stars OITNB's Natasha Lyonne, who is forced to re-live her 36th birthday in Groundhog Day style as she dies over and over again.

The plot really gets interesting when Lyonne's character Nadia meets a man called Alan who is experiencing the same fate. They quickly discover that their lives are somehow linked as they both die at the same time.

The eighth and final episode is called Ariadne, who was a princess in charge of a labyrinth according to Greek mythology. Ariadne helps a man she loves escape after he killed the Minotaur inside, which in turn appeared to avoid their path to self-destruction and allow them to return to their original timelines together.

Nadia and Alan realise they'd crossed paths on the night they first died, and decide they should die one more time in a bid to interrupt their inevitable fat by saving each other's lives.

While we know a second series is definitely on the cards, the finale left us with so many unanswered questions, but one fan thinks he has all the answers.

Reddit user Tempus_Waffen has a theory that makes the show seem a lot darker than we ever comprehended.

He wrote: "In Russian Doll, Nadia and Alan are linked and die at the same time. We see this in the later episodes. We also see that Alan is suicidal. I think that Alan figured out the Groundhog's Day situation much sooner than Nadia and attempted suicide many more times than he remembers - or wants to let Nadia know.

"In Episode 2 of Russian Doll, Nadia keeps trying to leave the party and keeps dying on the stairs. This is due to Alan immediately going up to the roof of his building and jumping off to kill himself."

Another Redditor disagreed adding:"Great theory, but I think there's a hole. If he didn't remember the first time he killed himself, why would he keep doing it as soon as he woke up?"

"I think you are right. I wanted them to show a side by side of each death so we could see how they were connected" another added.

Russian Doll is available to stream on Netflix now.
