Zombie nuts, it's your day - The Walking Dead: World Beyond finally has a release date.

The third instalment from the Walking Dead universe will be landing on Amazon Prime on Monday 13th April, and it's set to have all the high-stakes apocalyptic action as its formers.

Following on from the super successful Walking Dead series - which is currently working on season 11 - and its 2015 follow-up, Fear the Walking Dead, World Beyond will focus on the first generation raised in the zombie apocalypse from the perspective of two female protagonists.

Set in Nebraska ten years after the apocalypse, the spin-off will follow the young women who've experienced their coming-of-age during the disaster.

"Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad," the synopsis reads.

Co-created by Scott M. Gimple, with Walking Dead's Matt Negrete joining as co-creator and showrunner, the series will star Aliyah Royale (The Red Line), Alexa Mansourm (How to Get Away with Murder), Annet Mahendru (The Americans), Nicolas Cantu (The Amazing World of Gumball), Hal Cumpston (Bilched) and Nico Tortorella (Younger).

World Beyond also guest stars Natalie Gold (Succession) as Lyla, described as "a mysterious figure operating in the shadows on behalf of the cause she believes in", along with Scott Adsit (30 Rock) as Tony, Al Calderon (Step Up: High Water) as Barca and Ted Sutherland (Fear Street) as Percy.

The spin-off was announced in July 2018 during San Diego Comic Con by WD executive producer Scott Gimple.

In 2019, AMC confirmed that the female-led 10-episode series would begin filming in Virginia in summer that year, and the first trailer premiered at Comic Con New York in 2019 (which you can check out at the top of this article).

The series will be made up of two seasons and 20 episodes in total.

We can't wait for this.
