Releasing the trailer on YouTube on Thursday, Netflix hinted at yet more drama at Liberty High, teasing: "A new harrowing crime unfolds in Season 3 of 13 Reasons Why, returning August 23rd on Netflix."
The trailer shows the students "connected by their secrets", before standing in a group at Bryce Walker's funeral. The question is then asked: "Who killed Bryce Walker?"
Netflix has also given us a look at what we can expect from season three in an intriguing description that reads: "Eight months after preventing Tyler from committing an unthinkable act at Spring Fling, Clay, Tony, Jessica, Alex, Justin, and Zach find ways to shoulder the burden of the cover-up together while helping Tyler move toward recovery.
"But when the aftermath of a tumultuous Homecoming game culminates in the disappearance of a football player, and Clay finds himself under police scrutiny, it's up to a shrewd outsider to steer the group through an investigation that threatens to lay bare everyone's deepest secrets.
"The stakes are raised in this riveting third season of 13 Reasons Why, as the consequences of even the most well-intended actions can alter a life forever."
A post on the show's official Instagram account revealed the same trailer and teased: "Any one of them could have done it. Season 3. August 23."
In other 13 Reasons Why news, it has been revealed that the drama has been renewed for a fourth season, but that this instalment will be its last.
