'The Stranded' Is Coming To Netflix Next Month And It Sounds Gripping

Those of you after another Netflix series to binge are going to want to mark the release of sci-fi thriller, The Stranded, in your diary.

The first Thai original to land on the streaming service, The Stranded tells the story 18-year-old Kraam, who survives a devastating tsunami along with 36 of his fellow students at an elite private high school on a remote island in the Andaman Sea.

The students soon realise rescue isn't coming as and Kraam leads them in the plight to rescue themselves, despite the mysterious forces working against them.

The Stranded stars Thailand's Sinjai Plengpanich, Sarunyoo and Hattaya Wongkrachang, together with Winai Kraibutr, Beam-Papangkorn Lerkchaleampote, Pat-Chayanit Chansangavej, March-Chutavuth Pattarakampol, Jack-Kittisak Patomburana, Oab-Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang plus more.

It's produced by GMM Grammy and H2L Media group and is directed by Laddaland and Puen.. Tee Raluek (The Promise) director Jim-Sophon Sakdaphisit, with Ekachai Uekrongtham, Gary Levinsohn, Christian Durso, Steven Sims and Billy Hines as executive producers.

The sci-fi follows a list of stellar international productions from the streaming service, including crime drama Criminal, which was filmed in four languages across four different countries.

The 12-part series is comprised of 12 unique stories that are set in four different countries: France, Spain, Germany and the UK.

There will be three episodes set in each country (and spoken in local language), but all fall under the same series, and are subtitled, so viewers can enjoy them all.

Described as a "stripped down, cat-and-mouse drama" which "focuses on the intense mental conflict between detectives and suspects," the entire series takes place within the confines of a police interview suite.

The Stranded arrives on Netflix on Friday 15th November.
