The latest trailer for the third series of The Sinner has been released and to say it has us hooked is an understatement.
The critically-acclaimed show promises the "most shocking story" yet as Bill Pullman reprises his role as Detective Harry Ambrose.
The two-minute trailer begins with Ambrose investigating a tragic car accident in upstate New York involving Matt Bomer's character Jamie Burns, a Dorchester resident and expectant father.
However, something seems off and Ambrose ends up uncovering a hidden crime, which looks to pull him into the most disturbing case of his career - we have a feeling it may have something to do with Jamie's old college friend Nick Haas.
The mysterious character, played by The Mindy Project's Chris Messina, appears to have a dark hold over Jamie when he makes an unannounced appearance to town and visits Jamie and his wife Leela (Parisa Fitz-Henley).

As tension mounts, fans are then treated to suspense-filled scenes, characters standing on the edge of skyscrapers, and Jamie telling Detective Ambrose: "You're no different than I am you know, don't start thinking you are".
USA Network, the American broadcaster, previously shared the synopsis, which reads: "The Sinner's third instalment follows Detective Harry Ambrose (Pullman) as he begins a routine investigation of a tragic car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester, in upstate New York.
"Ambrose uncovers a hidden crime that pulls him into the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career."

In March, Matt Bomer took to Instagram to share his joy at joining the cast, telling his followers: "Words can't really explain the excitement I feel getting to be a part of a show that I'm such a fan of, not to mention working with this incredible cast.
"Also: it's really nice to be coming home to @USA_Network - can't wait!"
The network has also confirmed Derek Simonds will also return as the showrunner for the third season.
Jessica Biel - who was nominated for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and Critic's Choice Award for her part in season one - will be an executive producer, alongside Michelle Purple.
We haven't got an exact release date for season three in the UK, but do know it will be available to watch on USA Network from 6th February, 2020.
In the meantime you can binge on season one and two on Netflix now.
