There are dozens of examples of The Simpsons seemingly predicting the future, but now there's a new theory about the show itself - and it's actually quite shocking.
This wild theory suggests Chief Clancy Wiggum isn't Ralph's dad. Instead, some fans are convinced that Ralph is the child of Chief Wiggum's fellow Springfield police department colleague, Eddie!

It is thought that Chief Wiggum's wife Sarah had a secret affair with Eddie, one that viewers have never seen on screen.
Eagle-eyed viewers have pointed out that Ralph bears no resemblance to his supposed father, Chief Wiggum, who has blue hair and an upturned nose. Interestingly, both Ralph and Eddie share sparse black hair. This is the basis of the theory...
Fans flocked to Reddit to discuss the theory alongside pictures of Ralph and Eddie to compare their features.

One fan wrote: "Chief Wiggum's wife had an affair with Eddie and Ralph is actually his son."
Another suggested a darker theory. "I was always of the opinion that Ralph's parents were siblings, which explains the striking physical resemblance between Chief and his wife," they said.
A second user had a similar take, writing: "I think he looks more like Chief Wiggum. Come to think of it his wife looks a lot like him too."
Many fans refuted the shocking theory, with one fan stating "the only resemblance is the hair."
One person wrote: "Ralph's skull, ears, eyes and nose are much closer to Wiggum's in terms of shape. His hair kind of looks like Eddie's, but that's it."

"None of their features look similar at all except for the hair," suggested another Reddit user. "Other than that they share no similarity. Chief definitely looks and acts like an adult Ralph."
In reference to our favourite, bumbling animated detective - it seems the case regarding Ralph's paternity has been solved...
