Prepare for all the nostalgic feels because The Secret Garden is coming to Netflix next month.

The classic 1993 film starring Kate Maberly will drop on the streaming platform on Wednesday 1st July - and we can't wait for a trip down memory lane.

Despite being released nearly 30 years ago, the film has remained a firm favourite. If it's been a while since you watched, here's a little recap...

The film, based on the classic children's novel of the same name and written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, focuses on Mary Lennox (played by Kate Maberly) who is orphaned after an earthquake in India.

She's sent to England to live with her uncle, Lord Archibald Craven (John Lynch) who is still in inconsolable grief 10 years on from his wife's death.

The breathtaking house is located in Yorkshire where Mary makes a series of discoveries - one being a mysterious and overgrown secret garden.

During her stay, Mary begins to a hear a series of far-off cries during the night, but is instructed by head of servants Mrs Medlock (played by Dame Maggie Smith) that she must not investigate under any circumstances.

Eventually, Mary discovers the cries belong to her cousin, Colin (played by Heydon Prowse) who is very sickly and has been instructed to stay in bed and out of sunlight.

Mary pledges to revive the garden, along with her new friend Dickon (Andrew Knott) and once they bring the neglected wilderness back to life, they begin making secret trips with Colin, too.

The revived garden has a rejuvenating effect on Colin and changes all of their lives forever.

The classic will arrive on the streaming platform on Wednesday 1st July and fans are already excited, with one tweeting: "Oh my god they're putting the secret garden on Netflix in a week and a half."

While another said: "The Secret Garden is coming on Netflix on 1st July. This is not a drill!"

Popcorn at the ready, we can't wait to curl up on the sofa and watch this!
