We already knew that Love Island doesn't air on Saturdays from series gone by, but that didn't stop us all from feeling a pang of sadness this weekend when we realised there was no villa action to catch up on for a whole 48 hours.
As per tradition, the ITV2 dating show is only on for six days a week, and takes a mysterious break on Saturday. We had no idea why until now, and it's truly blown our minds.
Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning on Monday, series three winner Kem Cetinay revealed what the Islanders get up to on their mysterious break day.

Sharing his wisdom as an ex-contestant, Kem said: "When you're in there you get one day off, you get one day off a week."
"It gives them a day to clean the villa and you take your mics off and normally we go to the beach and we just chill out," he added. "Not a lot of people know this."
ERM WHAT? You mean to tell us there's loads of sexy beach action and potentially juicy conversations that we're missing out on for an entire day?

The revelation was met with gasps from Holly and Phil, who echoed the nation's reaction when they asked Kem if he was joking.
But Kem explained: "When you take your mics off you're not allowed to talk about anything to do with the show or the couples, you've got to talk about home life.
"You're being watched by an eagle hawk, by the producers, because don't want you to talk about what's going in."

But a lot can happen at a day at the beach even if you're not explicitly chatting about the couples, right? Ever heard of subtle looks and flirty touches, producers?
Asking all the right questions, Phil pressed: "Can you sit with someone you like that maybe you're not with in the show?"
Kem replied: "Yeah you can all sit and chat but they're quite careful about what you talk about because they want to keep it so everyone at home can see it and they can get it on video."

He added: "But at the same time it's their day to clean the villa, get everything done, give you a day off and your time to relax."
Of course this has left us with a lot of questions: do they visit a private beach? Wear disguises, perhaps? Surely someone has to get out to Spain now and hunt down this beach that's packed with the Islanders on a Friday?
Rightly so, Holly and Phil said they weren't sure how to feel about it - and we agree. Missing out on a day of action? We feel positively cheated.
