Consisting of seven episodes, The Queen's Gambit begins in a1950s orphanage and focuses on Beth Harmon (played by Anya) - a mega-talented young chess prodigy who is also struggling with an addiction to tranquillisers.

Netflix explains: "Haunted by her personal demons and fuelled by a cocktail of narcotics and obsession, Beth transforms into an impressively skilled and glamorous outcast while determined to conquer the traditional boundaries established in the male-dominated world of competitive chess."
