ITV has just announced the release date for new true crime, The Pembrokeshire Murders.

The drama, starring Luke Evans, will air over three consecutive evenings on Monday 11th, Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th January at 9pm on ITV.

"Confirmed: The Pembrokeshire Murders, broadcasts Monday 11, Tuesday 12 & Wednesday 13 January, 9pm on ITV," said ITV.

"Luke Evans takes the lead in true crime drama The Pembrokeshire Murders, a three-part mini-series depicting the pursuit of a cold-blooded serial killer."

The drama sees Welsh actor and Hollywood star Luke Evans starring as Senior Investigating Officer, Steve Wilkins, as he reopens two unsolved double murders in Wales.

"Employing pioneering forensic methods, Wilkins and his handpicked team found microscopic DNA and fibres that potentially linked the murders to a string of burglaries committed in the 80s and 90s," the synopsis explains.

"The perpetrator of those robberies was nearing the end of his prison sentence, but if Steve Wilkins was right, he was also a serial killer... Could Steve and his team find enough forensic evidence to charge their suspect before he was released to potentially kill again?"

The reopened murder investigation attracted significant media interest at the time, after it was revealed that the suspect had actually appeared on classic game show Bullseye in 1989 - which then became a crucial element in his identification.

Speaking about the drama, Luke explained the story hooked him immediately.

"I'm a sucker for a true story and this isn't just a true story, it's a shocking, true story about the worst serial killer that Wales has ever seen." Luke said.

"I got to use my own Welsh accent for the first time in many, many, many years and it was a great experience all around."

This certainly isn't one to miss...
