The L Word is officially making a revival, and not only that, the original cast are making a comeback.

Incredibly, it has been a whole 15 years since the programme first graced our screens, and since then it has won a hell of a lot of GLAAD Awards, opening many doors for the LGBTQ+ focused shows, like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Will and Grace.

It gets even better as the original cast are signed up for the return of the iconic show. Jennifer Beals (Bette), Katherine Moennig (Shane) and Leisha Hailey (Alice) will reprise their roles as well as working on the show as executive producers, alongside showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan.

Showtime has said the fan-favourite characters will appear "alongside a new generation of self-possessed LGBTQIA characters experiencing love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks, and success in LA."

It sounds incredible.

The reboot will follow directly after the sixth series which aired in 2009 and saw some of our most loved and hated characters in jail and dead.

The L Word ran for six series in total and aired from 2004 until 2009.
