The Handmaid's Tale Season 4: Fans Convinced Serena Joy Is Pregnant After Watching New Trailer

Hulu has just released a new trailer for The Handmaid's Tale Season 4 - and fans are convinced Serena Joy is pregnant.

Ever since the new clip dropped yesterday, fans have been so excited, with the upcoming new season looking to be packed with explosive twists.

And viewers honed in on one specific scene, which appeared to hint Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) could be pregnant. Halfway through the trailer, Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) can be seen opening an envelope to find an ultrasound photo, with fans believing Serena has finally managed to conceive.

One wrote: "Is Serena pregnant?!!!!! No!!!!!!!"

And another commented: "After watching this trailer, I am going to make couple of assumptions... Serena gets pregnant but Fred is not the father cause he is sterile."

Meanwhile another posted a GIF, adding: "Me telling anyone who'll listen that Serena Joy is pregnant in season 4 of handmaid's tale."

But how is Serena pregnant?! Well, fans have their theories. One, as mentioned above, is that the baby wouldn't be Fred's, but could instead be Mark Tuello's (Sam Jaeger). Fans will remember Mark lured both Fred and Serena across the border into Canada in Season 3, where they were arrested by authorities.

Another theory is that Fred somehow is the father, with some fans pointing to a Season 3 clue.

"I think I've figured out season four. Spoilers ahoy," one wrote.

"S3E11. Serena slept with Fred at Tuello's friends house en route to the Canadian border."

Although viewers didn't actually see Fred and Serena have sex at Tuello's friend's house, they do share a room, with the same fan adding: "Note the womb imagery with the lamp in the middle."

After watching the latest trailer, fans were also excited to see the return of Nick Blaine (Max Minghella) who was notably absent in Season 3.

Fans were shook in the last season, when it was revealed Nick played a significant role in the founding of Gilead and was a soldier in the crusade.

But at the beginning of the Season 4 trailer, we see Nick looking for June, while a later scene shows him telling Commander Lawrence that he "can't move on" from the mother of his child.

There's also a number of shots of the pair reuniting - but fans have noted these could be flashbacks.

Meanwhile, the trailer also seems to imply June makes it to Canada, with the clip beginning: "Miss Osbourne, if you return to Gilead, would you be subject to danger or torture?

"Risk to your life? Or a risk of cruel or unusual treatment or punishment?"

Oh the suspense!

Season 4 drops on Hulu on 28th April. Channel 4 is yet to announce a release date for UK viewers, but we've got everything crossed we hear more soon.

We've got a feeling this could be the best season yet...
