'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 4 Will Be The Biggest Yet, Says Elisabeth Moss

With The Handmaid's Tale usually returning to our lives during the summer, fans were hoping this would be the case for Season 4 - but sadly, it's looking like it's going to be much later.

"Part of the reason why it's taken a little bit longer, besides just timing, is that we are making it a bit of a bigger season this year. We're really stretching the limits of our capabilities, production wise, and we're on the move a lot," she explained.

"We're not sitting in a studio between four walls very much, so it really is a bigger season and that's taken a little [longer]. I've been in Toronto since mid-January prepping."

That definitely sounds like a fair enough reason, right?

At the end of Season 3, the dystopian drama left fans reeling over what would become of June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss) after she ended up gravely wounded while rescuing the children of Gilead.

Viewers also saw Serena Joy arrested in Canada. Despite her helping June in the resistance in return for immunity, the immunity doesn't cover her forcing June to have sex with Nick in order for her to bear her a child of her own.

Despite disappointment, June is once again left behind in Gilead, but we expect to see her head over to Canada in time for the trial of the Waterfords.

So what else can we expect from Season 4?

"The book starts, then jumps 200 years with an academic discussion at the end of it, about what's happened in those intervening 200 years.

"It's maybe handled in an outline, but it's still there in Margaret's novel. We're not going beyond the novel; we're just covering territory she covered quickly, a bit more slowly."

It's now expected Season 4 will air in autumn this year. I think we can all agree that when it *does* arrive, it will be worth the wait.
