Fans of two 90s staples; the fantasy comedy film Hocus Pocus and Friends, one of the most popular sitcoms ever, share something in common. The fountain!
Hocus Pocus has been on everyone's minds recently in the run-up to Halloween. Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the fountain looked eerily familiar. It turns out that the fountain made its on-screen debut in the1993 spooky season flick - more than year before Friends premiered.
There will even be a Hocus Pocus reunion on Halloween-eve, 30 October, in aid of the New York restoration project although it seems unlikely that the fountain will make an appearance. Sigh.
However, the fountain only makes a brief appearance in Hocus Pocus, which stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as a trio of witches. It can be spotted when the film's young protagonists Max, Dani and Allison celebrate what they believe to be the demise of the witches.
The fountain's "big scene" is in Friends where it features in the opening credits. For over 25 years, fans of the sitcom have sung along to the Rembrandts' I'll Be There For You, as Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross and Joey fool around in the now infamous fountain.
Twitter was in shock after the revelation came to light. One user said "I'm not going to be the same".
The same fountain and houses are in the Friends opening AND Hocus Pocus...Did anyone else know this? :eyes: pic.twitter.com/GtsiN4Puj9

Fans of Hocus Pocus have discovered a lot of possible connections between the film and other Halloween movies. TikToker @lyssalyssalyssahh shared her theory which claims Hocus Pocus and the Halloweentown saga are connected after she binge-watched the first three Halloweentown movies.
At the end of Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge, she noticed a character in the film wears a cape that is eerily similar to a cape worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in Hocus Pocus.
How did this unlikely crossover happen? Both Hocus Pocus and Friends were filmed at the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles.
Could this mean the fountain has sneakily appeared in even more Warner Bros. classics?
