The First Trailer For Disney's The Lion King Remake Just Dropped

The photorealistic remake of the 1994 classic is set to hit cinemas on 19th July 2019.

Disney has released the very first teaser trailer for its remake of the 1994 classic, The Lion King, and it's 90 seconds of pure nostalgia.

The 90-second teaser trailer for the live-action remake suggests there's more to the film than the original story, however it opens with the classic scene in which Rafiki presents a young Simba to the animals of the Pride Lands, while the Circle of Life can be heard in the background...

The trailer first aired during the NFL's traditional Thanksgiving primetime game in the US, and Disney fans all over the world now can't wait for its release on 19thJuly, 2019.

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and directed by Iron Man's Jon Favreau, The Lion King remake is a staggeringly photorealistic computer animated movie with a number of high-profile voice actors, including Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce as Nala and James Earl Jones returning to his role as Mufasa.

Elton John is back to rework on some of his original compositions from the film and Hans Zimmer will return to score the film.

Director Jon said of his team: "It is a director's dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life."

Fans of the original Disney film were over the moon when they watched the trailer to hear James Earl Jones' voice once again.

The Lion King is set to hit cinemas on 19th July 2019.
