If you need refreshing, the series - written by Allan Cubitt - is set in Northern Ireland and follows the life of Detective Superintendent Gibson (Gillian Anderson) who is transferred from London's Metropolitan Police to investigate a murder overseas.
Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson is tasked with tracking down serial killer Paul Spector (Dornan), who has an ominous obsession with the young women of Belfast.
On the outside, he looks like a normal guy. He's handsome, a psychiatrist, a husband and a doting dad... but under the surface he has truly dark and depraved desires he just can't shake.
As the case unfolds, Gibson is challenged by her colleagues on her handling of the investigation, and tensions rise.
She also develops a fascination with Spector which borders on an obsession.
