The Crown fans, get excited. Netflix has just dropped a new trailer for season 4.

The streamer posted the trailer on Twitter, with the words: "'Here is the stuff of which fairy tales are made.' Hmm, OK."

It's a reference to the words sermon spoken by Archbishop of Canterbury Robert Runcie at the wedding of Princess Diana, which is hauntingly spoken in the opening of the trailer.

In the rather dark and moody trailer, fans get a fresh look at Emma Corrin in role as Princess Diana, in the lead up to her wedding.

Set to the ominous ticking of a clock, we see Diana embracing her role as the people's princess, and other key characters - including Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson) and The Queen (Olivia Coleman) - seemingly preparing for the wedding.

The trailer ends on a shot of Emma Corrin in a replica of Diana's famous wedding gown.

Interestingly, Netflix shared that the ominous voiceover you hear over the trailer is "the ~actual~ voice of Archbishop of Canterbury, Robert Runcie, from the ~actual~ speech he gave during Charles and Diana's wedding."

The fourth season will be the last for the current cast, which also includes Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.

The fourth season picks up in the late 1970s and will depict much of Prince Charles and Princess Diana's romance.

Fans will also be introduced to Gillian Anderson's portrayal of Margaret Thatcher and viewers will watch as tensions arise between her and the Queen, which as Netflix explains "only grows worse as Thatcher leads the country into the Falklands War, generating conflict within the Commonwealth."
